Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi c. 1749
An excellent viola modeled after the Landolfi owned by Irving Illmer of the Chicago Fine Arts Quartet. The varnish is yellow over a cinnamon ground. The two piece back was created from maple. This viola has a tenor voice and is smaller than usual-perhaps perfect for an aspiring young violist.

This Amati viola reproduces the famous 1620 instrument now residing in the Ashmolean museum and featured in our article The Alto Viola. This lovely viola has a two piece back and is finished in a stunning orange tint. It produces a perfect tenor sonority.

This viola is a replica of the Grancino owned by Kathryn Plummer, Professor at Vanderbilt University. The decoration on the border is an exact recreation of the original, and the coat of arms and crown under the fingerboard are from France's house of Bourbon. The finish has a golden glow while the instrument itself produces a warm, tenor sound capable of pervading any venue.
